Update on Progress Challenge!

For those of you that are keeping up with the big challenge,  things are really heating up this week.  It all started with two directors that were bragging on their band kids.  The challenge has been expanded.  Here is the full update...

During the very first week of the challenge, Smokey Road Middle School lost to Taylor County Middle and High School.  (video already posted on website).  However, it was just the first week.  Within one week, Smokey Road fired back with HUNDREDS of Progress Marks that were earned.  Smokey Road went on to win week two.  Here are the videos from that week...

Mr. Vogel was forced to send us this message admitting his defeat!!!!

Later that week, Dr. Boyd felt so confident in SRMS's victory that he posted this new video to a few of the other schools that were boasting on social media that they "were the best Power school!".

This challenge video seemed to silence the chatter on the web, and for days the video went answered.  However, while Mount Zion High School and Fairplay Middle School were silent on the matter, Taylor County was not!  TC answered the call of their week 2 defeat with hundreds of progress marks.  It didn't take Mr. Vogel long before he made the call to let Dr. Boyd know how Taylor County had done.  Dr. Boyd, forced to be a man of his word, sent this video to Taylor County admitting to their "momentary" victory and making sure that they knew the fight would continue.

The students at Smokey Road have already started to answer back this week by setting a record number of Progress Marks this past Friday that will be counted for the following week.  To make matters even more exciting, Mr. Jones, the Band Director at Mount Zion High School sent the following video to Smokey Road Middle School on Labor Day.  It appears Mount Zion High School has decided to step up to the plate.  You can tell from his video, that he thinks beating Smokey Road will be an easy task.

At this time, there has been no response from Fairplay Middle School.  Perhaps they have decided that they are not ready for the challenge.  As it stands, Smokey Road is the lone middle school taking on the giants and holding its own!  Our students are standing firm and we will stop at nothing to be on top.  This week will continue to work hard toward accomplishing as many Georgia Performance Tasks (progress marks) as possible.  Who will win in the end?  It is too early to tell, but I can tell you this...Smokey Road is going to represent the #wildcatnation well!
