Festival Schedule

Students and Parents,

The purpose of this letter is to give you preliminary information about our Large Group Performance Evaluation.  We commonly refer to this as “festival.”  This is the most important day of our band program.  Adjudicators from across Georgia will grade the quality of our band and give us a rating based on the achievement of our students on stage.  This rating lasts for an entire year and is posted in various sources of media.  We are very proud that Smokey Road has earned nothing less than “Superior,” the highest level possible, for the last 5 years!

Parent Volunteers Needed!

This year, we are hosting the event here at the Coweta Centre for Performing and Visual Arts.  We will host the bands in both Coweta and Fayette County!  To accomplish this, I need a LOT of parents to help run the event.  The jobs are important, but simple.  If you can assist during the day with the event, please visit our website, www.smokeyroadbands.com, and click on the link at the top of the page to register for a preferred time slot to volunteer.  This is a great way to see your student perform at the event!

Tuesday, March 12

2:00                 Leave Smokey Road

2:15                 Watch other school’s performance

3:30                 Warm-up

4:15                 PERFORM FOR JUDGES

5:00                 Parents will pick students up at the Centre
