Newnan High School Drum Majors

Congratulations to Jonathan Lybrand, Carlos Woods, and Mindy Griffith for being named drum majors at Newnan High School for the 2012-2013 year.

All three of these students have a long standing tradition of excellence that started during their time at Smokey Road Middle School.  Jonathan Lybrand, french horn, and Carlos Woods, Saxophone were in the advanced band at Smokey Road during the first two years that Mr. Boyd was the director.  Mindy Griffith, flute, was one of the first students to re-kindle the tradition of district band and solo ensemble 3 years ago and was also a member one of the first students to be members of the Smokey Road Advanced Band during her first two years at Smokey Road.

All three students are members of the Newnan High School Symphonic Winds (Advanced Band) and have performed all over the southeast.  Carlos Woods and Jonthan Lybrand are seniors next year and this accomplishment will mark their final year in the Newnan High School Band program.
